2 Questions, 2 Decisions

Post by ItsRainingAgain » Wed Mar 06, 2019 7:40 pm

I received ILR in July 2018 based on Tier 2 (5 years) but lived in UK for 10 years, came here on student visa.

My wife Tier 2 dependent will be eligible for ILR in August 2019.

Q1 : After I will get nationality hopefully in July 2019, 1 year after ILR, does my wife needs to wait 1 year as well to be eligible for nationality or she can apply straight away as I will be british citizen by the time she will receive ILR, so in this case, can she apply for nationality straight away ?

Q2 : I am permanent employee with good salary and good savings in my bank account, I am thinking about starting contract job for 3 months or maybe 6 months, in AN form I don't think I will have any self tax returns as far as I understand as I will just start the contract in April 2019 or May 2019, so what I will provide to HO ?

Many Many Many thanks for your time.

1. If she gets ILR and you are British at that point, she can apply for citizenship immediately if she meets the 3 years residence requirements. You should continue asking ILR questions for your dependent in the existing topic you already have. indefinite-leave-to-remain/tier-2-depen ... l#p1746970

2. Employment is not mandatory for citizenship. You should also not ask citizenship questions in the ILR sub forum. There is a British citizenship sub forum for such questions.
