Home office is asking for Bio metric data before the appointment SET (M)

Post by ramsprk » Tue Mar 26, 2019 8:18 am

Hi Gurus,

It would be great if someone could help me out with my query below.

I got a mail from Home Office yesterday as below.

Before that let me give a brief back ground of my application.

UK Entered datae : 28th Feb 2014 (On Spouse via and at that time spouse was on ILR visa)
Got Extn for 30 more months on : 16th Nov 2016 (By this time spouse was a BC)
Bio metric expires on : 12th May 2019

I have submitted my online SET (M) application on 12th March 2019 (Super priority by paying 3018.20 GBP).

Scheduled an appointment with UKVCAS for 3rd April 2019 to submit my documents and Bio metric (for Appointment £ 200 + £35 for Document checking.).

Now below mail confuses me and really do i need to go to a post office to give my biometric data? So far i haven't received any hard copy as they mentioned in their mail.

Could you please advise what i'm supposed to do now? Or is it a generic mail?

"Following your recent Settlement application you will have received a biometric notification letter with instructions for providing your biometric data (scanned fingerprints and photograph). It informed you that you had 15 working days from the date on that letter to have your biometrics taken.

If you have already provided us with your biometric data for this current application, please ignore this email notification.

If you have not yet provided us with your biometric data, please now take the original letter we sent you with your barcode to a participating Post Office Ltd branch to have your biometrics taken. The addresses of these Post Office Ltd branches can be found at www.postoffice.co.uk. You do not need to book an appointment. You can visit a participating Post Office Ltd branch and wait to be served. Please note that there may be a queue for this service.

It is important that you comply with the biometric application requirements. If you do not, your application will be invalid and could be rejected. Attending a Post Office Ltd branch to have your biometrics taken as soon as possible will help us to process your application more quickly.

If there is an issue with the personal details on your biometric enrolment letter or reason why you have been unable to attend a Post Office Ltd branch to enroll your biometric data please contact: xxxxxxxxx@xxxx.gov.uk , setting out the error or reasons why you have been unable to attend.

If there is a change in your circumstances, please contact us using this link[/i]: ."

Hi CR001,

Thank you very much for the quick response.

Just for my peace of mind, i no need to go to any post office and i can go to the service center on 3rd April and submit my documents and biometric data (Even though if i receive the letter).

Am i correct in that?

The sentence " Application will be rejected" scares me a lot. So making sure from gurus that i'm in the right direction.

Thanks
RP.

Hi CR001,

I have two questions which are really not keeping me stable. Please help me understand about those questions?

1. My visa will expire on 12th May 2019. My online application submission date was on 12th March 2019. Would it be fine? or do i need to wait until last 28 days of my visa expiry date and then submit my application (I mean with in last 28 days do i need to apply?). Application type is SET (M)

2. As i mentioned i have submitted my online application on 12th March and my employer issued my employment letter on 4th March. But my appointment date is 2nd April. No my question is, do i need to get another employment letter as the previous issued letter would be 30+ days older by the time of the appointment (I read your threads and it says we need to consider the application submitted date). But, in my case my application date and appointment date got 20 days gap and do i need to show the evidence for this gap (I can get an updated employment letter and latest pay slip as well)?

Could you please advise?

Thanks
RP.

You can apply no sooner than within 28 days BEFORE the 5th anniversary of your ENTRY to the UK (which has already passed) OR before your visa current EXPIRES.

Your date of application is the date you SUBMIT and PAY online and not your appointment date!!

Can I get clarification here please?:

"You can apply no sooner than within 28 days BEFORE the 5th anniversary of your ENTRY to the UK (which has already passed) OR before your visa current EXPIRES."

So what happens with ramsprk in that they applied 60 days before expiration?

Assuming you can not apply sooner than 28 days before the visa expires, can you start the online application sooner, save it, and then submit it 28 days before?

thanks :-)

If you read what I have posted, I have clearly stated there are TWO scenarios and I have used OR to distinguish between the two. When a person can applies depends on their visa route, the rules differ. This user is applying on SET(M), which is NOT relevant to your Ancestry ILR route.

You should please keep your questions in your own topic you already have, link below.

Hi CR001 and members,

Here is a little update on my Application SET (M).

Yesterday (03/04)was my appoint for my biometric and documents submission at UKVCAS Premium Lounge. Appointment was at 11 am.

I was there at 10.30 am and they have called me at 10.45 am. The lady who was attending my case asked my passport and scanned. After 10 mins she said you are all done and you may leave. She didn't even ask any of the document or anything else (Ofcourse i was uploaded all the docs prior to the appointment).

Today at 9 am i got below response form home office

"I am pleased to confirm that your application for indefinite leave to remain has now been granted. You will receive your decision letter and biometric residence permit (BRP) in due course and these will confirm your immigration status. Thank you for using our super priority service."

Thank you so much CR001 for all your support and prompt responses.

Thanks
RP
