BRINGING ADULT DEPENDENT RELATIVES TO THE UK FOR SETTLEMENT

Post by Anna456 » Mon Apr 15, 2019 6:01 pm

I’m the only child and have British citizenship. I applied to bring my parents from Vietnam to the UK for settlement. The applications were rejected. We appealed and now I’m waiting to her the date for First Tiered Tribunal.

Both of my parents have ill health and need daily care support. Mum has heart disease & high blood pressure and she’s on full time medication. Dad has gout and often suffers from prolonged periods of gout attacks which left him in excruciating pains. He also has chronic and severe migraines. Both have depressions. I send money home on a monthly basis to help support them.

Has anyone had similar experience? Your advice is much appreciated!

Many thanks.

It is the most difficult visa to get and likely or possible that an appeal will fail.

The links below explain the difficult requirements that have to be met. To be honest, high blood pressure and gout are not usually considered severe illnesses.

What evidence did you submit that they need daily Care to dress, cook, bath and help with basic functions etc etc?? Who helps them now if you are presumably in the UK?

What is the exact wording of the refusal letter?

You do realise that this refusal now also shuts the door on any future visitor visas too. There have been very few successes since the rules were tightened in July 2012. The handful that have had success was only after very lengthy and costly appeals and usually for those parents where care and medical is exceptionally expensive.
