Unmarried Partner Visa - weekly payslips/time outside UK

Post by Dorihow » Fri May 17, 2019 12:04 am

Hello! I am an American applying for an extension of my FLR(M) visa as an unmarried partner to a British citizen. I have been in the UK since 2010 (previously on two separate Tier 4 visas).

With this in mind, I have two questions.

First, does the question which asks about time spent outside the UK require me to list every time I have left the UK since 2010? Or over the last 2.5 years? Or is it asking for time spent living outside the UK?

Second, we are using my partner's weekly, non-salaried income to meet the financial requirement. We have his payslips and bank statements, but I was unsure about the six month period. We plan to apply next week. Should the six month period be (a) months in their entirety (e.g November 2018-April 2019) or (b) the absolute most recent months (e.g. last two weeks of November 2018 - first two weeks of May 2018)?

Many thanks in advance for any help provided!!

1. No difference even the absence from 2010 is being mentioned on the form

2. Payslips and bank statements must cover the continuous period of 6 months/26 weeks and latest payslip, bank statement & employer letter must not be older than 28 days from the date of application.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

Many thanks for your help! I really appreciate it! If you don't mind me asking two more questions just to be sure :

1. I have the payslips exactly as you have described, and I have calculated the yearly salary based on the formula stated in the guidance. (6 months of gross income divided by 6 and then multiplied by 12.) I just wanted to be sure that this is the formula that should be used regardless of whether the payslips are monthly or weekly.

2. I have been filling out the online application a little at a time, and it stated that I need to send 12 months of payslips and 12 months of corresponding bank statements (rather than 6). Is this normal for a non married partner FLR(M) application?

Many thanks again!!
