Spouse Visa Dependant Child Query

Hi Everyone,

I have a question ( possibly a stupid one )

I am a British citizen by birth and my wife is a Russian citizen ( we were married in Russia .

We are looking to apply soon for a spouse visa, my wife is currently pregnant with my child who is due to be born in the next month so will be born in Russia.

I understand that our child will automatically have a right to both UK and Russian citizenship as we are both citizens by birth ourselves.

In regards to applying for the spouse visa would our child be classed as a dependent and would I need to earn the extra requirement of £3,800 on top of the £18,600 ? or as my child would have a right to British citizenship would it just be the standard £18,600 that I am required to earn.

No. British children are excluded from the financial calculation.
