Tier 2 Genera Visa Extension Beyond Passport Validity

Post by ganesheie » Thu Jun 20, 2019 3:46 pm

HI All,

My son's Passport is ending in January 2021. I am planning to extend my Tier 2 General for 2 years in July 2019. I am the Main applicant and my Passport is also expiring in August 2021.
Can I Apply for a 2-year visa or should I just extend it for 1 year?

I was being informed my one of my friend that now it's all BRP, it should not be an issue.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards
Ganesh

Passport expiry date is irrelevant. Simply apply for the visa and renew passport when the time comes.

The visas are issued on a BRP card and not in the passport.

COS Amendment work end Date.

Post by ganesheie » Thu Jun 20, 2019 4:02 pm

My employer has given me an initial cos till 31st August 2020. Is it valid for me to apply for a 2-year tier 2 general visa if my employer makes an amendment in the cos to read the work date 2 yrs from start date?

Visa Extension

Post by ganesheie » Sat Jul 13, 2019 8:16 am

Hi I am on a tier2 general visa ending on 22nd July. I have got the Extension appointment scheduled on 20th July,I have opted for Super Priority service. I am curious as the dates are close and 1 day in between being sunday,
My question would be, Is my appointment date considered or the decision date is considered, and what if HO don't make a decision by 22nd July 2019.

New visa date is from date of approval or decision.

Application date is the date you submit and pay online.

Your existing visa conditions continue while ho process your application.

Precisely my question is if HO does not make a decision by 22nd which is my final day of existing Visa what would happen

Nothing happens. You made an in time application and section 3c kicks in.

Why do believe it is an issue??

Application Submitted with Wrong COS Reference

Post by ganesheie » Tue Jul 23, 2019 4:22 pm

What is the chances of my extension if I have submitted the application with an incorrect COS. The Last Character was O, however, I had typed it as 0.

How much is the wait time

Post by ganesheie » Wed Jul 24, 2019 10:05 am

Hi
I have done my biometrics for Tier 2 General Extension on 20th July 2019 at Birmingham (Super Priority). Still, haven't heard anything on Decision. Generally, how long it takes to get the Decision and is it communicated through email or Post.

You have been asked before to NOT start multiple topics on the same application. Please follow the forum rules!!

See below, clearly states TWO working days if your appointment is on a weekend!!!
Get a faster decision on your application
If you’re applying to extend or switch in the UK you can pay an extra £500 for the priority service to get a decision within 5 working days.

You can pay an extra £800 for the super priority service to get a decision:

by the end of the next working day after providing your biometric information if your appointment is on a weekday
2 working days after providing your biometric information if your appointment is at the weekend
