I am writing on behalf of a good friend who is Malaysian, married to an English man and has two children with him an 8 year severely autistic boy, and a 14 month old baby daughter, who live in London on British Passports.
Soon after she gave birth to the daughter, she was diagnosed with Stomach and Liver cancer

She has been receiving treatment in Taiwan for the cancer at her own expense this last 6 months, she is currently in the UK, but will soon return to Taiwan for further treatment.
All this time she has been away from her family and her husband who usually works as a IT project manager; he has had to give up work to look after the baby and very autistic son. All their savings have gone on her treatments and she can no longer do her work which was real estate in Malaysia. So the family is surviving on benefits in South London.
I believe since she has terminal illness and qualifies for Section 8 of the Human Rights Act, i.e. right to private life, so she should be able to gain FLR for 30 months or life expectancy on basis of terminal illness with access for public funds and NHS.
If anyone could clarify this and advise how they should proceed, I would be most grateful. Her very worried friend.
