Tier 2 - job offer withdrawn by sponsor

Post by Botman » Sat Jun 22, 2019 11:25 pm

Hi. I was switching jobs in UK with different employer. I have a tier 2 visa sponsored by my next employer valid till April next year. But that employer has withdrawn the job offer. What happens now? What do i need to do? I’m applying jobs again but it takes a while to go through the whole process. Thanks for your help.

All you can do is try to find another sponsor and then apply for a visa again.

Note that you are now not permitted to work at all.

Will this be considered a break in continuous period for ILR?

No. There is no longer an employment gap restriction for tier 2 ILR.

Obviously if you don't find a new sponsor and apply for a visa, you will have to leave the UK and then you will be subject to the 12 month cooling off period before you can return.

I have read some posts on curtailment period and its advised to be on the same address for the letter. I’m not living at the same address. Is it compulsory? As in do they just deliver the letter or my signature are required to receive it?

I have a housemate there who informs and sends me any mail addressed to me but if signature are required then I’m worried.
