Joining EEA family member in UK

Hello All,
My husband holds a Portuguese passport and wishes for me and our child to join him in UK. Unfortunately he does not meet the 18600 GBP per Annum criteria. I need to know if he can still have us join him, does this rule apply to EEA nationals?

If he is only Portuguese the yes he sponsors you under the EEA rules for a family permit.

The financial requirement is relevent to family of British citizens who are applying under the UK immigration rules not the EEA EU rules.

Thank you for clearing my doubts. Just one more question by husband has got his Portuguese passport hy neutralization, I hope that won't be a hindrance.

Why would it be?? He is an EU citizen, regardless of what route to citizenship he got it.
