UK Spouse Visa - Tenancy Agreement Length & Financial Evidence

Post by lisaefp » Fri Jul 12, 2019 1:41 pm

Hi Everyone,

I'm hoping someone might be able to help answer this for me as i'm a bit anxious about it!

My husband is in the US and we will be applying for his UK spouse visa at the end of this month (July). My letting agent has agreed to complete and sign the letter saying he can live in the flat I rent. Perfect.

HOWEVER... My tenancy agreement end date is September this year, when *hopefully* my husband will be joining me. My tenancy agreement can of course be renewed after this date for another 6 or 12 months but will this current date on my agreement be an issue with our application? Do I need to see if they will let me extend my tenancy early?

And lastly, we are meeting the financial requirement with cash savings which I have had in a NS&I savings account for 6 months. Am I able to submit a printed statement from my account or do I have to have them send it to me? I read somewhere that you can use statements you have printed at home?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Lisa :)

If you can then renew the tenancy agreement in advance otherwise it will still work along with estate agent's/landlord's fresh noc letter. You can also add 2-3 council tax bills (optional) to further strengthens it.
Regarding bank statements either they should be original or if printed online then they must be stamped from the bank.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.
