I've applied in Feb last week and still waiting, My Son has a valid visa and an application is in process but I'm going to book the ticket before his current visa expire, so on his return he still has 1 month left on his BRP card, but at that time I'm not sure whether his application has been completed / not. will update the forum. I've been advised in my last post that the Child is free to travel if he has a valid visa even the application is in process.virtual7887 wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2019 5:48 pmHi,
I have applied for registration of my child as British born in UK via the MN1 form.
I have paid, submitted the application and attended the biometrics at sopra steria on 18-March-2019.
It has been over 10 weeks since that date and I am starting to worry about the application, as I did not hear anything about it yet.
Is this normal or unusually late?
Is there a way to get an update via a phone call or email to home office? (as we want to travel soon and we cannot while the application is in progress)
Thanks for help.
I remembering reading somewhere that it is not recommended to travel while the registration application is in progress. The reason I remember reading is that the BRP card may be made invalid at anytime during the application process, which means the child may not be able to enter the UK.
Can you provide with a reference to the advice that the child is free to travel please?sunny007 wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2019 7:38 pmI've applied in Feb last week and still waiting, My Son has a valid visa and an application is in process but I'm going to book the ticket before his current visa expire, so on his return he still has 1 month left on his BRP card, but at that time I'm not sure whether his application has been completed / not. will update the forum. I have also known several people who applied for registration of child under 18 and got the certificate in 2 months. This is becoming a cause of doubt and anxiety for the delay I am facing.
Mine is straight forward too. It has been 3.5 months now and haven't heard from them yet.

Hi All,
Just to let you all know that my child received the letter and certificate of registration 2 days ago...
I took about 3 months and 3 weeks after submitting the biometrics.
It has been a hell of a waiting period. I don't know why it took so long but its done now. Uff.
Hi all, received the certificate in post today. 2months and 10 days approx.rockcbe wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 11:37 pmThat's the worst case scenario Iam worried about. What if it takes more time thst even 3 or 4 Months. I have to comeback to work and so does my wife.. Meaning we would have to leave the 18 month old with grandparents.. Bit harsh.. I called home office and they said they can't discuss if application is not more than 6 months.

Also, please do update if you receive the registration certificate. Thanks.
