Not straight forward email.

Post by Kelz1929 » Sun Jul 28, 2019 6:08 pm

Hey guys, I applied for my eea family permit on the 10/07/2019, on the 26/07/2019 I received an email to say my application was not straight forward. Is there anyone that applied within this time and has had a decision made or is still awaiting decision? If anyway got this email before, how long did you have to wait for the passport to be sent back to you?
Thank you all.

Your previous posts suggests you are in the UK

Where have you submitted your application??

Why exactly have you applied for as a family permit is from outside the UK and valid for 6 months. Within the UK you apply for the 5 year residence permit.

I applied from outside the U.K. Maybe it shows that way because I joined this platform when I was in the U.K.

I left the U.K. on the 4th of July got married and applied soon after that. Could this be the reason why the process is not straight forward?

You were an overstayer in the UK for a long time and got married to an EU citizen and immediately applied for a family permit. Yes HO will want to be sure it is not a shame marriage or marriage of convenience.

Presumably your partner travelled with you to get married abroad??

Yes he did travel with me. We lived together for more than a year (provided proof of us living together) would they still suspect a marriage of convenience?

Do they get in touch with us to ask for more documents or interview to prove it isn’t? Are there on here like mine? Thank you for your response.
