2 month shortness for full 5 year ILR

Hi I have questions regarding what should be a road/solution in my case:
1. I have Tier 2 general visa and my full 5 year will be completed 01.01.2021 visa will expire 28.01.2021. So I have no issues for applying for ILR.
2. My wife and child visas(tier 2 dependent visa) will expire the same date as mine 28.01.2021, but their full 5 years will complete 28.03.2021 as they entered UK later and their initial visa start date was later.
Should I extend their visa for another 3 year (as this is only one option)or there a way to extend their visas for shorter period ( 2 months) and then apply for ILR? Is there a way to not apply for another visa for them after I will get ILR?

It's exactly 5 years prior to dates mentioned as full 5 years in initial topic. E.g. 01.01.2016 for main applicant and 28.03.2016 for dependents.

Yes. You could apply using the standard service, which is usually 8 weeks, then hopefully if you don't get a response vary their application to ILR once they are within the 28 days before 5th anniversary of visa issue date.

Apply for dependents extension nearer to current visa expiry date.
Vary ext to ILR minus 28 days from qualifying period.
A delay in biometrics submission will also slow down the process.
The fees will be refunded.

You could apply for ILR directly using the above method but it’s a bit risky.. there is a conflict due to the below!

You must calculate the relevant qualifying period by counting backward from whichever of the following is most beneficial to the applicant:
• the date of application
• the date of decision
• any date up to 28 days after the date of application
