Tier 2 Dependant Extension

Post by Dilliwalah » Wed Aug 21, 2019 3:45 pm

Hi Guys

Just on the same topic.

I will be applying for ILR in Jan 2020. My Wife will be applying for PBS dependent visa and my child for MN1 as he was born in UK.

Query:
1. What will be the fees for wife's PBS dependent application? it is not clear here --> https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... nt-partner

2. My wife will be eligible for ILR in Sep 2020. Will i be getting a refund of the IHS Surcharge as i will be paying for 3 years on Jan 2020?

3. Will i need to pay any IHS for my child?

Please do not tag your questions onto other member topics. It is unfair to other users.
1. What will be the fees for wife's PBS dependent application? it is not clear here --> https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... nt-partner
Should be £704. There is a glitch in the system if your last CoS was more than 3 years and you will be charged more.
2. My wife will be eligible for ILR in Sep 2020. Will i be getting a refund of the IHS Surcharge as i will be paying for 3 years on Jan 2020?
No. Refunds are not given when you apply for ILR.

https://www.gov.uk/healthcare-immigrati ... on/refunds
You will not get a refund if:

your visa application is successful but you do not come to the UK
you leave the UK before your visa ends, for example to make a new application
you’re told to leave the UK before your visa expires
you’re applying for indefinite leave to remain or changing to another visa where you do not need to pay the IHS
3. Will i need to pay any IHS for my child?
Your child is not applying for an extension. IHS is not payable for MN1 applications.

My last CoS Tier 2 General was for 5 Years. What would be the fee?

Total = Fee + 1200 IHS + 800 Priority is there any other thing i will need to consider?

Thanks for your support.

90 days maintenance funds and 2 years evidence of cohabitation.

Thank you very much. Kind and helping as always!

1. The fees i need to pay £1408 is because my last COS was for 5 years. But the IHS will be £1200 (3 years)?

Total = 1408 Fees + 1200 IHS + 800 Priority = £3408 + 630 Maintenance (in bank only)

£3408 for PBS (Jan 2020)

In Sep2020 ILR application for Wife:
£2389 fees + 800 Priority + 150 english + 50 LIUK + Maintenance (in bank only)

£3389 for ILR (Sep 2020)

Is there any other route where i can save any money?

2. For cohabitation proof is - Council tax, Utility bills, bank statements(mine and wife banks separate) sufficient.

Presumably yes as she will only get a 3 year extension.
In Sep2020 ILR application for Wife:
£2389 fees + 800 Priority + 150 english + 50 LIUK + Maintenance (in bank only)

£3389 for ILR (Sep 2020)
There is NO maintenance fund requirement for ILR.
Is there any other route where i can save any money?
Nope, not if you don't want to reset her clock to a new 5 year residence period. Or apply as above using standard service to avoid the super priority fee. Remember also that fees increase in April.
2. For cohabitation proof is - Council tax, Utility bills, bank statements(mine and wife banks separate) sufficient.
Any official letters, etc. spread evenly over the 2 years, i.e. every 3 to 4 months.

Thank you, using standard service is the only place where i can save a bit. Fee increase will impact ILR application for wife, yes. Thanks will take that into account as well.

Thanks for your clarifications

I will start preparing now and also hope i will a lottery by then!

Almost a decade for me :D
I missed T2 ICT ILR by a few days. The pain......

Do I need anything from my employer for my PBS dependent application ?

As me (T2G) and my wife's (T2G dependent) leave end on same date. I will be applying for ILR shall I submit her application after I have received ILR or together? Not sure how it works.

No.

Either. Her application will only be processed when your ILR is granted. If your ILR fails, then her extension will also fail. Whichever way you do, she must apply before her visa expires. You can apply for ILR no sooner than within 28 days before the 5th anniversary of the initial visa issue date.

Just to make sure, you are applying for ILR on SET(O) 5 years Tier 2 and not ILR based on 10 years long residence??

Ok so i will submit both my and my wife's application together. How should i notify HO that her application needs to be process only after mine is processed?

I will be applying for Tier2 5 year ILR.

HO know the rules but you can simply write a brief covering letter and upload with her extension application.

the difficulty you will have in applying at the same time is entering your ILR expiry date, which you won't have, for the IHS fees.

Is that for my Wife's PBS Dependent application.

For ILR there is no IHS.

IHS for your dependent as you need to put your ILR expiry date.

If you put your tier 2 expiry date, IHS will be zero, which is wrong.
