Dependent VISA validity after main applicant leaves sponsor

Post by fanibhusanmohanty » Wed Aug 21, 2019 9:43 pm

Hello all,
I have recently received my ILR. My wife & kid are on tier2 dependent visa valid till March 2020. My kid was born here in January 2017. If I leave my existing sponsor & start contracting, will it affect my dependents visa ? I am planning to travel to India in December & will apply for my wife's ILR & Kids citizenship after coming back in January 2020.
Please let me know if I can do that without any problem.
Thanks in Advance

They are dependent on you, not your sponsoring company. No effect on their visas.

UK born child doesn't need ilr. They can be registered as British on form MN1 once either parent has ilr.

Thank you very much. I think I can apply ILR for my wife & citizenship for my kid in January 2020 with 2 months validity on their visa.
Thanks

You can apply for your child now as you hold ilr. Only one parent needs ilr.

It can take a few weeks or a few months, it varies.

Child is free to travel.

Not sure what trouble you think you will get into.

Hello,
Thank you very much.
I was thinking if my kid will need a visa to travel to India if she gets citizenship before we travel. That is the trouble I thought.
Can she travel with her existing visa even after she gets British citizenship ?

Thanks

Child can leave the UK without any problems. It is returning that will be the issue if the child doesn't have a visa or a British passport.

I will apply for her citizenship after coming back in January 2020.
Thank you very much for your prompt response.
