Naturalisation question

Post by khaledahmed » Mon Sep 09, 2019 1:06 pm

Hello

I obtained my British citizenship in 2016 via Tier 2 (General) Migrant route. My wife joined me in 2014 on Tier 2 general dependant.

My wife has recently obtained the ILR after the 5 year continuous period residence.

Now, my enquiry is:

Could my wife apply for citizenship immediately without waiting the 12 months period as in normal case because I am a British citizen at the moment not at the marriage date. In addition. she entered the UK on Tier 2 Dependent visa not spouse visa of a British Citizen.

Please let me know what do you think?

Many Thanks

Yes she can apply now if she meets the 3 years residence requirements etc.

Route to ilr is irrelevant!!

Dates of supporting documents for naturalisation applications

Post by khaledahmed » Mon Sep 16, 2019 9:30 am

Hi
I have applied online for the British Citizen via naturalisation route on 13th September.

However, the first available appointment on the UKVCAS to check my supporting documents and Biometric enrolment is on 15th October.

All my documents including the referee declarations are dated on 13th September and before.

My question is do I need to repeat the supporting documents with new dates to be in 1 month from my appointment (15th October) or I can proceed with my existing documents as my application date should be 13th September (online submission)?

Regards
