BRITISH PASSPORT FOR NEW UK BORN BABY

Hi ,

Need some information regarding my son new UK born baby passport application.
My son born in june 2019.My husband got ILR in september2019.shall i apply british passport for my son?
what and all documents do i need to provide?is MN1 is required ?

What is your immigration status??

If neither parent held ilr before the child was born then the child is not British and cannot apply for a passport.

You have to register the child as British on form MN1 first.

Thanks for your reply.Yes my husband got ILR after my son born in UK.My Immigration status is not ILR.MN1 is required in our case.What and all documents I need to provide for MN1? how long does MN1 takes?do i need a solicitor support for this application or shall i try myself?do we need to provide cover letter like UK visas?

Anywhere between a few weeks to 6 months, sometimes longer.

You don't need a solicitor. It is not a difficult application to make.

Mn1 does not require originals. You upload all the documents on the ukcvas sopra website.

Only the ilr parents passport and brp is required to be uploaded.
