I am currently working on Tier 2 ICT Dependent Visa and my company wants to sponsor me for a Tier 2 General. For this purpose I will be travelling to India to apply for Tier 2 General visa.
I am finding the questions on the Application Form a bit difficult to answer as they have been designed keeping in mind someone who is living in India. I have specific queries on how I should answer them as my case is unique in the sense that I am already staying in the UK.
Can you please help with the following -
1) Contact number - Should I give them the UK number or take a temporary SIM from India and give the local number ? -.
India number. Give a number reachable in India to get VFS updates.
2) Correspondence Address - Can I give my UK Address ? If not, does it need to match the Indian address that is present on my passport ? I will be staying at my relatives place during the application - can I give that temporary address here ?
Give your passport address even if it is rented but you own the property. If you don't stay there then give an address where you stay while making application. The better option is to give passport address.
3) For the Correspondence Address (ques 2) what should I answer as "How long I have been staying here" ? (I will only be staying for 1-2 weeks for the purpose of this application)
This is tricky if you provide relatives address. Why don't you stick to passport address and give the length of stay at that address.
4) Previous Visits to the UK - The form asks to fill details of previous UK Visits. Since I have been staying in the UK for the last 3 years, should I just put in the instances of my travel from India to the UK (I have travelled for short breaks 1-2 times to India).
Somewhere in this forum it has been suggested to submit the application after you land in India. I did that way so that the statement you make stands factually true. You need to put from first entry till last exit of a particular visa type including any extensions. Ignore any vacation travel. So if you fill the form after landing then then date would be first entry and last exit in this three years.
6) Previous Addresses Stayed in - I have put in my current address in the UK as the most recent one and will be staying here till October. However I am not allowed to put any date in the future. Can I fill in September here ? Shoud I put in my most recent one as the temporary address ?
Yes fill in till the date you travel back. If you submit application after reaching India you can put exact date. There will be section where you can also give future addresses if you know or rented any property for future but this is optional.
5) NHS last day of taking treatment - Is it the last day of finishing of medications or is it the last prescription day ?
It asks about treatments. Ignore any gp visits or consultations. Give explanation in comment section.
I have to submit my form and book in my travel as soon as possible so any help or pointers in this regard will be greatly appreciated.
My suggestion. Book your travel and go to India and finish application. There is a section at last where you'll be asked for any further details you want to provide. Just write all facts thst you wish to say otherwise cannot be expressed. Like tell you have been to GP during so and do month but not for treatment but just consultation. You came back from UK to change your visa type. If you have any dependent like kids staying in UK while you change mention it.
Bear in mind when you fill the application think that you are filling from india then all questions will make sense.
Good luck.
My spouse was in same situation as yours. And this is how we did it. I saved the application but submitted it on day of landing.
You should bold your answers if you respond in the quote. It is very difficult to see what you have posted in between as it doesn't stand out.
I am not sure what is your timeframe. What service you ganna use. Standard or priority? All this matters. I got appointment the 2nd day from submitting application. And I had open return so there's no fixed timeframe for me.hv_aish wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2019 7:36 pmThanks this is very helpful.
I will be booking my travel for a couple of weeks.
In case I submit my form after reaching India is there a way to ensure I will get the appointment and complete formalities within that time frame while I am there ?
Also, did you take advise from any immigration consultants on filling/verifying your form ?
Can you please DM me any references of immigration advisors ?
