Tier 2 Dependent to Tier 2 General

Post by Jeevan18 » Mon Sep 23, 2019 11:10 am

Hi Team

I am working with a A rated company on a dependent visa and which is expiring in 2020 March.
My company is ready to sponsor me a Tier 2 general visa and have got the RLMT completed.
However, need your help on
1. Visa Category is Tier 2 General - New Hires. Do I need to resign and rejoin the company or can work as I apply for my visa?
2. Also, Do I need to mention that I am working for the company in the visa application form? If yes, then will this make the RLMT invalid?
3. Can I apply for visa 4 months in advance before the expiry of the dependent visa?

Any help is really appreciated.

Cheers!

No need to resign and hopefully the RLMT was conducted properly to prove you have not been 'pre-selected' or tailored to exclude others and only benefit you.
2. Also, Do I need to mention that I am working for the company in the visa application form? If yes, then will this make the RLMT invalid?
You simply need to answer the questions as asked in the form.
3. Can I apply for visa 4 months in advance before the expiry of the dependent visa?
You can apply at anytime once your sponsor has received approval for an RCoS. You do realise you have to apply from home country after the RCoS has been approved at the monthly meeting. Your Dependent visa validity is irrelevant to a tier 2 General application.
