You can travel with your new passport and BRP card but if you had obtained your new passport on the basis of claiming your old passport being lost/stolen which actually HO was holding then it may make your journey/future application inconvenient.

What visa had you applied? And why hadn't you contacted them earlier when didn't have received your old passport?

What reason you given to passport authorities that where is your original expired passport?

Actually, i submitted student Visa file in march-2014 and i switched that file in to tier-2 general(my wife became main applicant).my tier 2 file refused by HO in may -2015 because of sponsorship licence revoked)
- 2015 to 2019-court matter meanwhile my Son got British nationality base on stateless child me and my wife put flr(p) file on 6th feb 2019. my wife got LTR same day but my Decision letter received on 6th October-2019 means they have hold my passport since march-2014 to still now.

You still haven't answer, well anyways if you haven't declared your old passport is lost/stolen when actually it was with UKVI/UKBA (a lot of people by mistake do it) then you should be fine.
