It's never true.. A friend of mine used the online one just yesterday and was granted a settled status.
Try the online one I think it's the best option for those on the leave to remain visas... it's very simple and short.
He was on his first 2.5 years but was granted since he's been a carer of a BC for the last 5 years. Don't listen to people..
Nope haven’t received it yet still waiting. Not heard anything from them since the biometrics
I will say let’s watch and see I called them today to ask why I have not received a COA yet and was told the caseworker had to look at the biometrics first then I will receive they advice to wait a couple more weeks as there many applications I submitted my application and did biometrics back in August the lady said I should be patient my case is with the caseworker now and it’s just a matter of when they get to itmummy21 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2019 2:39 pmHi everybody
I'm just wondering if anybody can shed light on the conversation my brother had with the scheme. He called today asking if I could use my COA as my right to be in the country until my application has been decided.
He was asked for when my COA was dated and told them it was 28/08/2019. He was told that is not possible as everyone had to have a decision by now as it has been longer than a month and even if I was a non-EU applicant I should have a response as they expect to be done with all applications for September by the end of the week, EU and non-EU applicants. They insisted we should all have responses by now. I told him that I think the month response was for EU applicants but he insisted all applications submitted by now would and should be processed by next week including non-EU applicants.
I am confused as I just called the EU settlement scheme on Monday and they told me my application was in progress and with a caseworker, and there was no timeline for when we would receive an answer by. C
Should I ignore this conversation that our applications are due an answer already and keep waiting like the other consultant said? Why on earth are they giving conflicting information?
Hi rikki, rikki wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2019 2:43 pmHi This is my first time to post in this forum.
Please I will need help from those have got a similar case to mine
1-Came in the UK in 2009 with Tier 4 visa valid from Sept-2009 Jan-2014
2- Had a British child in 2011 and obtained her British passport in 2014
3-Obtained a Tier 2 General visa valid from Sept-2016- Sept-2016
4- Hold a Derivative residence card (Zambrano case) as a primary carer of British child since 31 Dec 2014 which will expire on 31st Dec 2019
I will like to apply for the EU settlement scheme because I hold the Derivative residence card for almost 5 years now.
I called the EU settlement resolution centre and spoke to two different persons
The first person told me that I wasn't eligible to apply for the EU settlement scheme and gave me a different number to call. When I called the number they ask me the recall the EU resolution centre.
I called the EU settlement resolution centre for the second time and was able to speak with another person who told me that I can apply but that he can't advise whether I am eligible EU settlement scheme or not.
Please I need advise from those holding a Derivative residence card (zambrano carer) who applied for the EU settlement scheme recently
Thanks for your lovely attention

Welcome on board.
Please just do the online application. Follow the procedures and I believe you qualify for the settlement status.
All that you need is your NI number and your sponsor details (your child).
It won't take you more that 30min and you will get your certificate.
Take a portrait picture on a clear background and attach it when asked.
Try it and you wont be disappointed ..
Thanks billsoya and mubashir1981 for you prompt reply. I called the resolution centre again to ask for them to send me the application pack. The application pack has been sent to me and I should get it within 10 working days.mubashir1981 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2019 9:19 pmU need to call eu resolution centre and ask for paper application form. Please do you think that I need a solicitor to applied on my behalf? Or I can do it myself.
Shall I apply once I received the application or I shall wait till December 2nd (28 days before my current derivative ecpires)
Thanks for your support
You don't need a solicitor for this.. waste of money if you ask me. This is a straightforward application if only you can establish your continues residency as a Zambrano carer.rikki wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2019 6:14 amThanks billsoya and mubashir1981 for you prompt reply. COA allows you to work, but some companies wont give you a contract until a decision is made.Bullz wrote: ↑Thu Oct 31, 2019 5:16 pmHello,
I have been following this thread for the past couple of months, and wanted to share my experience.
We are from a non-EEA country, but my son is British by birth since I and my wife had ILR when he was born. we had to leave the UK before we applied for citizenship, but were away too long that the ILR status lapsed. Returned to the UK last year on a 2-year T2 visa and learnt about the EU settlement scheme from a solicitor.
My son is 11 years old and now attends a secondary school but since I arrived in the UK last year, I have applied for a pre-settled status on my EU Settlement Scheme paper application, showing 1.5 years of residence in the UK as a Zambrano carer. I have a BRP and do not hold a derivative card.
Requested the paper application last month and here's my timeline:
Application for self/spouse/daughter posted on 1st Oct
Application received at HO: 2nd Oct
Biometrics enrolled: 10th Oct
COA received for self and spouse (not for our daughter): 28th Oct
Decision awaited.
Going by experiences of members in this forum, it's hard to guess when a decision might be expected. But, I would like to know if anyone has used the COA to prove right to work to prospective employers, in case I want to change jobs.
Wap thats great news. I really appreciate to updtae us.snooky wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2019 8:46 pmHi Everyone
I have been following all your post for a very long time and just want to add a bit of encouragement to peoples faith
I applied to renew my Zambrano in February this year as my 5 years was coming to an end in March.
This was refused in June after Home Office misinterpretated and/or misreprented the guidance of Patel vs SSHD.
Though I have lived as a Zambrano derivative for 5 years, I chose to appeal as my refusal granted me such honourable opportunity.
The good news came yesterday when I took my chance at the first tier immigration appeal court at
Taylor House, 88 Rosebery Ave, Islington, London EC1R 4QU.
I argued against the interpretation of Patel vs SSHD guidance which is incompatible with Article 20 of TFEU section 15A and paragraph 42 of Patel case.
The Judge acknowledge that blanket guidance was totally wrong and not compatible with the law of EU and especially when non of the parents has no Leave, it brings compulsion and also force the british citizen children to leave the UK and EU.
My appeal was allowed meaning I WON AGAINST THE HOME OFFICE yesterday. They even failed to as the Respondent to appear before the Judge.
I won and still Waiting for my settled status application which has been with them for 5 months.
Now I would advice anyone who has been refused to challenge the Hom Office because the Judges are not with them and Patel case has gone back to Court for review.
I won and Home Office lost
Let us know if they apeal against the decision in uper tribunal.snooky wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2019 8:46 pmHi Everyone

I have been following this thread for quiet sometime but now About the EU settlement scheme.
I submitted my application for EU settlement since June done my biometrics and got COA but my leave under parent route 2.5 is about to expire this month of November. Do anybody have an idea if it's ok to renew under UK domestic law under parent or partner and if it's going to affect my current application for settlment if I renew under parent/partner as nothing is been heard about those who apply having leave to remain under 2.5. As am a bit confused at the moment
Calling resolution center for application if asked if you got leave they say you not eligible.
Please any idea will be appreciated.
