Hello Everyone,
I am applying for my tier 2 extension. When I came to this country my job was not on short occupation list and my employer went to RLMT in 2005. I am currently working for the same employer, doing the same job under same code i.e. 2126 (design and development engineer).
My employer has issued me an un-restricted ISC exempt COS, but has ticked that job is not on short occupation list. My employer never looked at the revised appendix K, which now shows that all job in code 2126 are on short occupation list. Am I right in thinking that all jobs under code 2126 design and development engineer now fall under shortage occupation list and doesn't matter if you employer is a manufacturing company or an electrical.
Secondly as un-restricted cost is already assigned my sponsor is saying that he can add a sponsor note stating that they have accidentally ticked no under shortage occupation and the job now falls under shortage.
If this is the case then I will be paying fees up to 3 years extension (shortage) which is only £464.
I am going for my extension in 2-3 days time. I will really appreciate if someone please share their thoughts on this.
