FLRFP - urgent advice - dependant

Post by Aliaqib » Mon Nov 18, 2019 7:05 pm

Hi everyone, I would like some advice please.

Basically I bought my wife over from Pakistan in March 2017 on spouse visa. She come on the new rules and I had to meet the financial requirements.

I was working full time and had a second job as a private hire driver. But I lost my full time job and started doing taxis full time. Her flr is due next week and I totally forgot about it. Thing is I can’t meet the financial requirements now so I’m going on the FLR FP 10 year route.

I’ve got a son who was born here in UK in December 2017.

Now when I’ve come to do the application it says are any dependants applying. Because my son was born here is he considered a dependant of my wife?

I thought it was straight forward and I’d be paying £1033.00 but now I’m a bit confused. Would I be including my son as a dependant? And would that mean I would have to pay the main applicant + 1 dependant fee?

Absolutely mind boggled.

Thanks in advance

Your uk born son must be British for whom you don't need to pay anything rather simply give his details wherever are being asked on the form. If you have cash savings of £62500 then can use them to meet the financial requirement or if your wife is working then she can use her income alone if sufficient.

No I don’t have cash savings and wife doesn’t work which is the reason for going down the flrfp rpute because we can’t meet the financial requirements. She also hasn’t done her life in the uk. But my question mainly is about the ‘dependant’. My wife came over in March 2017 and my son was born in December 2017. So, do I need to include my son as a dependant and pay the £2066.00 (applicant - wife and 1 dependant - son) or just the £1033.00 for my wife the applicant?

Thanks

Just wife is applicant and apart of application fee you have to pay IHS fee which is around £1000. Also she doesn't need life in uk test at this stage.

If your nationality is British and you are the named father on the birth certificate rest assured: your child is British and doesn't need a visa

No English test is needed. Just go through the application form calmly and write a cover letter explaining your circumstances.

Husband's timeline - overstayer 11 yrs
08/16 - FLR (FP) Partner, refused 02/18, 03/18 - JR permission refused with merit
08/18 - FLR FP (Partner) PSC - Approved
07/20 - FLR FP to FLR M Switch - Approved, 03/23 FLR M Ext Approved.
