Experts please advice on the following topic .. I am really confused!
The day you apply you should not be outside UK for more than 90 days in the last 12 months and 450 days in the last 5 years (given you are applying on your own basis and not the British spouse).
So for example you were away for 150 days between March 2019 and March 2020, you will have to stay in UK until your days come down to 90 days on the date of application and not more than 450 days in the last 5 years.
Thanks fir your reply with the example .
I am actually not clear with the line, “ you will have to stay in UK until your days come down to 90 days“
Like for example if last 5 years till March 2020 my absence is (160+150) ! Then when I will be eligible?
Not sure what you don’t understand. If between March 2019 and March 2020 your absences are 150 days, then you exceed 90 days. So you will have to stay in UK a minimum of 2 more months to bring down your absences to 90 days. May 2020 you should qualify given you do not exceed 90 days in the last 12 months from the date of application in May 2020.
Also, May 2015 - May 2020 you should not have exceeded 450 days in total.
Thanks a lot for your reply with the details again
Now it seems quite clear. I though I have to wait till March 2021 to apply for citizenships.
I just calculated that last 5 years ( 2015-2020) absences are ( 84 + 126) = 210 days ...
So March 2019 to March 2020 absence is 126 days ..that means I exceed 36 days and that means o will be eligible in April/may! so can you please make sure the date when I will be eligible to apply for naturalisation please, as I got ilr in March 2018!
It would be great if you can confirm the date . Thanks again.
