switiching form tier 5 to tier 2

I am currently working on tier 5 and got tier 2 offer and also received cert of sponsorship.Now I have to switch from tier 5 to tier 2.
My wife has temporary Irish resident permit as she is working there. Can i apply from Ireland (provided I have Irish resident permit ) OR I have to go back to my country of origin.
The tier 2 guidance states that you must exit UK for switching but this detail is missing.
kindly help

You need to apply from a country you have legal residence, ie not as a visitor.
Char (CR001 not Casa)

I have dependent residence permit for Ireland that is valid for 6 months.So in this case i can apply from Ireland.
