Passport expiring before the end of visa duration

Hello!

I am working as a Junior Doctor in a London Hospital, currently. I am on a Tier 4 dependent visa.

My wife has just finished her MSc, I was her dependent till now.

Our BRPs are valid till 17 January 2020.

My hospital has provided me with the COS, where the period of work will be from 18 January 2020 to 30 September 2020.

I will be switching from tier 4 dependent to tier 2 and my wife will switch from tier 2 to tier 4 dependent. Just as we were applying, we found out that My wife's passport expires on 15 September 2020.

If we apply may this be a reason for denying my wife the visa?

We are very worried and will really appreciate any help!
