Spouse visa renewal- fixed term job

Hello everyone,
My spouse visa will expire on 20th of July 2020.
I am working on full time fixed term contract which will end on 18th of July. I'm on £24000 package.
I'm planning to apply on 22nd of June, 28 days before my visa expires. My employer said it will go to permanent when my visa is renewed.
My questions are

How safe it is to apply visa extension on fixed term contract? I will be working and for 8 months already at the time of application.

Can I apply before 28 days by any means?

If you had obtained the spouse visa from abroad then it must have been issued for 33 months. If so then you can apply extension 28 days before completing 30 months since arrived to UK. By doing so you might even get the visa before the expiry of your employment contract.

Yes I got my visa on October 2017 from India.

Can you explain a bit more about the application time please. I always knew visa will be rejected if applied more than 28 days from expiry.
That means I can apply on May as it will be 30 months on May.
And will I be ok with the fixed term job when applying.

Yes. If you will complete your 30 months in May then even can apply 28 days before of that same as advised previously. Your employment contract won't matter rather only the income matters which in your case is sufficient to meet the financial requirement of £18600 .
