Tier 1 Visa extension validity

Post by anassadek » Sat Dec 07, 2019 11:10 pm

I have a question regarding the validity of extension visa for Tier1:

Is it two years from day of expiry of Tier 1 intital visa? or 2 years from day it gets approved by HO?

eg:

someone landed in uk jan 1st 2019 and his visa is valid for 3yrs and 4months = expiry May 1st 2022.

he applies for extension on May 1st -- assuming he gets approval July 1st, is the extension valid until July 1st 2024

or
May 1st 2024

Extension are valid from date of approval. They are not tagged onto the last visa expiry date.

thank you for your quick response, so if the visa extension gets delayed the tier 1 applicant is not considered an over stayer as long as he/she applied for the extension before expiry of initial visa?
