MN1 for UK born child

Post by rikki » Thu Dec 19, 2019 2:12 pm

Hi
My son is born in 2017 I have just been granted ILR.
I know that my child is eligible to be registered as a British citizen but I don't know where to start.
1-Shall I fill the form MN1 online, then print it and send to the address provided?

2-Is there a way to submit the application online?

3- my son is only 2 year old so do not hold ID. He never travelled outside the UK and do not have a travel documents or passport.

4- In the form there are asking if he has ILR but he hasn't because I never applied for him to get ILR. Will he be granted Citizenship despite the fact that he never has ILR?

5-About the 1st referee. I don't know who to choose there. He saw few health visitors but a different one every time so a health visitor cannot help me. I leave him to my cousin when going to work and he never went to a professional childminder. He is only 2 years old and now going to school. Please anyone in my condition? who can I chose as 1st referee in these circumstances?

Looking forward to hear from someone who can help
Thanks

1. You complete the online form and submit it and pay. You will then be directed to UKCVAS Sopra Steria to book a biometrics and identity check appointment. You will also have to upload all the supporting documents. Nothing is posted to HO.

2. https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... 1575886465

3. A UK born child does NOT need photo ID. Birth cert is sufficient.

4. Ignore the question as not relevant to him. He does NOT need ILR.

5. You cannot use your cousin. It needs to be a professional engaged with the child, like the health visitor.

Thank you very much for your prompt reply. A big thank you for the clear answers. I am now happy to go ahead with points 1 to 4.
I am stuck with the point 5. I don't have a professional (health visitor, social worker, teacher or minister of religion) engaged with the child. I will like to know if someone has been in this position and how they managed.
Looking forward to hear from anyone who can give advice about point 5. Thanks
