ILE for Children of British parents born in SA

Post by jkproperties » Mon Dec 09, 2019 12:10 pm

Hello everyone,
So I am finally going for my citizenship ceremony tomorrow after some huge delays at Home Office.

I want to do my children’s Settlement visa applications asap.
Has anyone applied for a settlement visa’s for their children prior to having their own Passport in hand?

My wife has her Passport already, but I would like to try and gain the 3 weeks of Passport application.

Could I just attach my Citizenship certificate?

Thank you,
Jaco

Your certificate is evidence of your British citizenship. A passport is just a travel document.

Hi CR001,
Thank you for your reply,
That’s what I thought too, but the application asks for the biometrics page photo copy of passport.

If they wanted my Passport would they just request it or just outright decline?
Thank you

Ok, so I have submitted my children’s settlement application and paid their fee.
I still have not received my British Passport, but still hoping to get it very soon.
I have booked the TLS appointment for next week.

The application asks for my BP biometrics page, but I will add my SA Passport and my certificate of registration.
I will add a cover letter explaining I have applied and add proof thereof.

If this is not acceptable by the visa department will they just request further documents?
Surely it won’t just get denied.

Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you ,

Jaco

We have submitted the children’s Settlement visa’s and did Biometrics on 12 January.
I am so stressed that I might have ticked something incorrectly or missed something on the upload.

Would the Visa department request more information?
Or would they just decline?

Anyone with experience with this, please.
