Confusion Fiance Visa forms and support documents

Post by Angella21 » Tue Jan 07, 2020 5:34 pm

Hello All,

I am a British citizen and my fiance is Iranian.
We have filled the application form for him and his son to come to the UK, I can financially sponsor them which is what he has stated in his application. (This is on gov.uk website) but on his son’s form there is nothing about my sponsorship but questions were about my fiance’s job and his income.

What we have available is:
My fiancé:
1)Passport
2) Birth certificates
3) divorce papers
4) custody document for his son with rights of living abroad
5) proof of relationship ( photos together, skype calls, plane tickets)
6) lifeskill A1 certificate
7) letter from his employer with his salary and contract details

Myself:
1) Passport
2) 6 month payslip
3) letter from my employer with my salary, duration of contract and employment with its type
4) 6 month bank statement
5) council tax for my property
6) copy of land registry
7) my divorce papers (decree absolute) from my first marriage
8) Latest p60
9) cover letter for my sponsorship
10) letter from council registration office for venue and date pf our wedding

When I looked at the different places there was conversation about filling in a form which is VAF4A appendix 2. Is this required and for his dependent‘s application what should be submitted? Am I missing something important?

Thanks in advance for your support

Your fiance abroad employment letter and salary is irrelevant to the application and will be disregarded.

Thanks for your prompt response. But in his son’s application it is asking about his salary and income, is it required for that application?
Do you know if VAF4A is required?

Should I expect email for decision?

Post by Angella21 » Wed Feb 26, 2020 1:28 pm

My fiancé had an email from Sheffield home office about his application being processed by a decision maker, his son’s application was also acknowledged at the same time and was asked to pay IHS surcharge which he initially was exempt from. Their Visa is meant to be for 6 months but is acknowledged for settlement application and the nhs charge was I believe for 3 years($1620.00). The payment was made immediately and emailed them back as instructed.
Since they applied via vfs global they were told to expect no update but to get their passport returned by mail. Would home office send an email once a decision is made or should we just wait for the post. I see people posting about emails confirming their application is processed and can collect their documents.
