When can i apply ?

Post by asteramellus » Mon Dec 23, 2019 5:39 pm

Hi,

I just got the ILR today. I'm married to british citizen, i read on gov.uk website and they said that i don't have to wait for 12 months to apply ? So i can apply straight away, is it correct ?

2) On application, they requires 2 referees. They both must know me for at least 3 years ? one is normal referee i.e friend and another one should be a professional like like manager or director at my work ?

Thank you very much

1. Yes you can, provided you meet all the requirements of the 3 years residence, including being physically present at the start of the 3 year qualifying period and you meet the absence limits. Suggest wait till you have your brp as you need it to apply.

2. Yes re professional referee.

Hi,
I got couple questions and hope you can give me some advice

I just got ILR card before christmas, my spouse is british born . From what i've read on the gov website, i don't have to wait for a year to apply for the citizenship. Is this correct ?

2) While filling application form, they asked me to fill in 2 referees who have known me last 3 years ? What is the requirements for referees ? Do they have to provide their photos as well and sign on the declaration form ?

Thank you very much

Good evening,

I'm married to British citizen and have been living here for past 5 years therefore, I'm qualified to apply for naturalisation . I have submitted my application, uploaded the documents and booked the appointment for biometric this Sunday.

Can someone kindly check if the below documents are enough for my application? Can you please advise if i have missed something ?

Residence in the UK
• Correspondences (all bills on my name last 5 years up to July 2019)
• Original letter ILR approved from Home Office Dec 2019
• History of my absences past 3 years
• Referee 1(professional) -British
• Referee 2 – British
Life Events
• UK Marriage Certificate
• Proof of Identity/ Travel History
• ILR issued in Dec 2019
• Previous 2 x BRP cards ( past 5 years)
• My British partner passport and his birth certificate

Education

Medical Information/Finance/Proof of business /Sponsors/Employment
I left these blank. Do i need to provide my payslip/P60/ Letter from employers / bank statement or letter from NHS ?

Thank you very much. Your help is much appreciated.
