Newham Council Online Ceremony Booking

Hi all,

I received my approval letter on 6th of January 2020 which is dated 20th of December 2019.
In the letter it says that I have to book a ceremony online within 21 days and given the council's details.

When I try to book it online and enter the reference number (0XXXXXXXX 9 digit number which is also same with the case ID) the system cannot find my number. The council has an automated voice telephone service which tell that bookings are online.

Therefore I am wondering if the council has received the letter from HO or not. How long does it take normally. In the letter there is part that says "Please note that documentation may take up to 2 working days to arrive" but it doesn't indicate what documentation they are talking about. I reckon it is the ceremony letter for the council or me. But the letter dated 20th of December so I believe it should have arrived by now.

Also Friday will be the last day of 21 days for the ceremony booking time so I am a bit worried.

Does anyone else have the same problem?

Go into the town hall and ask, take your decision letter with you:

I will go there tomorrow morning. Someone in the forum mentioned recently that the councils receive the ceremony letters on Fridays. Hope they will receive tomorrow early as they only work until 11.30 am.

I was at the council today and told that I should check on Mondays as they receive the letters on Fridays and put it in the system until Monday.

Also told not to come there as they don't do anything about booking. They say the "21 days" is not correct. It is 3 months.

Hope this helps for other people whose numbers are not in the system as well.

It is 21 days to BOOK the ceremony and 90 days to ATTEND the ceremony.

That is what I thought as well. I cannot count on their saying. Luckily they updated their database today and I can book now with my Reference ID: 0xxxxxxxx

An update.

I received an e-mail from CCST Nationality Group regarding my concern. They also told me to disregard 21 days to arrange a ceremony and just told me to book the appointment in 90 days.

In case no available dates prior to end of 90 days , they ask me to contact them to request a ceremony extension.

Hope this information will help other people in similar situations in the future.
