Hello,
I’m 17 years of age, i was born in the uk but left for my home country.i had just applied as a dependant of my dad who has a permanent residence stay in the uk..i stay with my grandma here in my home country and i have had no contact with my mum since my birth. We have sent evidence proving he has and is still solely responsible for all my bills,( for the past 16years)
I have just read on the forum that they take the sole responsibility test seriously, and so i’m scared that might request for my mums consent or find an excuse to deny me the visa
Also My Dad claimed benefit for me while i was in the uk, and so i have NiN (national insurance number) NHs card and some of my document computed in their system
I dont know if it would be an advantage to me.

If you were born in the UK, why has your father not registered you as British on form MN1 once he got PR? This can only be done before you turn 18 and is an entitlement to register as British.

I really don’t know if he did or not. I’m only aware he recieves public funds on my behalf and was emailed my NIN before I turned 16.
At this point I’m really confused my self. This is the 50thWD since my biometrics so I should be expecting an email from them soon

I also felt since it is documented that I’m his son on their system, then once he was given his PR my name would have been included as a beneficiary

There is nothing automatic in the immigration or citizenship process, as CR001 stated the onus is on your dad to contact the HO and file this for you.

Also, he should not be claiming benefits for a child that does not live in the UK. That is benefit fraud.

You need to APPLY to register as British on form MN1 BEFORE you turn 18. Once you turn 18, that entitlement is no longer relevant.
