Tier 2 General to ILR Query

Hi Folks - I am planning to apply for ILR having completed my 5 years on Tier-2 General. The question that I need help answering is:

My spouse and kid have only completed 4+ years as Tier-2 G Dependants and their T-2 G Dependant visa is valid till May 2021. If I apply for ILR what will happen to their T-2 General Dependant status? What should I do?

Really confused as people around me say, if I apply for my ILR and get it, then automatically they will become disowned since they are T-2 General dependents and there is no T-2 General main applicant as I would have got my ILR.

Kindly advise on what should I do.

Nothing you need to do other than extend their PBS Dependent visas if they don't have sufficient visa validity to reach 5 years for ILR.
