UK Citizenship - relation of referees

Post by una86 » Sun Jan 26, 2020 7:20 pm

Hello,

I'm planning to apply for UK citizenship in the next month, and am thinking about who to ask to be my referee.

I know a lot of people (lectures) at a university where I used to work. However, I'm confused by the requirement "referees must not be related". Does this mean that the referees must have different employers?

Thanks

Related means related to you, ie family by blood or through marriage, ie in laws.

Your two referees can also not be related to each other, or husband/wife or brother/sister.

They can work for the same place, that is not related in what the requirements mean.
