Spousal Visa Language Test

Post by Fredericoagent » Mon Jan 27, 2020 11:55 am

Hello

I need to apply for spousal via in Ghana to come to uk

The application indicates english certification is needed.

The british council offers 2 types of exams

1. IELTS live skills A1
2. IELTS for UK visa and immigration ( academic and general training )

Has anybody been through this and can tell me what the difference is and which is needed for spousal visa ?

Also can a visa be done without English certificate or is this mandatory and they will refuse without?

Thanks

Charlie, It's in your interest to meet all stated criteria, so doing the English test will be important.
For UK spouse visa needs the life skills

You need A1 life skills for a spouse visa. It is mandatory and applying without it will result in a refusal and loss of fee paid.

English exemption only applies to those younger than 18 or those 65 or over and to those countries on the exemption list. Ghana is not an exempt country.
