Apply for registration of 6 month old

Post by asingh36 » Mon Jan 27, 2020 7:50 pm

Hi CR001,

Thanks for your clarifications on so many queries posted by members!
I have a similar query as posted in this topic.

Last week me and my wife got ILR so we are planning to register our 6 months old daughter as a British citizen who was born in UK.
Since birth, she never travelled out of UK so she is not having any passport, travel document or national identity card.
We can provide all the documents mentioned in MN1 form except the one as below:
“If XXX does not have a passport then you must provide another officially-issued identity document. This could include an official travel document or national identity card.”

We have following two documents of our daughter,
1) UK Full Birth Certificate issued by council showing parents name, date and place of birth
2) Birth Registration Certificate as Indian Citizen issued by Consulate General of India showing parents name, date and place of birth
There is no photo of child on any of these document. Please suggest if we can proceed with these two documents without any passport, travel document or ID card?

You don't need a passport or photo id or Indian Embassy birth cert. You only need the long UK birth cert.

Note that she also will lose her Indian citizenship when she becomes British.

Please also do not tag your questions onto other members topics.

Thanks CR001 for quick clarification!

One more query about the Referee engaged with the child in a professional capacity. As the child is only 6 months old, I could not find anyone engaged with child professionally. Is it OK to take reference from any professional family friend (e.g. nurse or engineer) who knows the child personally?

The nurse should be fine but cannot be related to you or the child or the other referee.
