MN1 online application - help needed, please

Hi all, could anyone who has more experience in completing the MN1 online form please help me? I am stuck at the beginning of it as I am not sure if I should be the main applicant or if this should be my UK born son whose british citizenship I am applying for? I have read about 45 minutes for an answer but can't seem to find it and my time is very limited with a two year old on my hands.
