Proof of living in the UK

Post by ILRILRILR » Tue Feb 04, 2020 6:50 pm

Hi,

And thanks in advance for the help.

My wife has just received her ILR through T2 dependent route, and since I'm a British citizen we're going to apply for her naturalization now. The problem is that we don't have the required evidence of her living in the UK since she renewed her Libyan passport in Oct'18 (in Libya), and the Libyan government keeps expired/old passports to prevent identity theft (I know it's silly..). Is there any other valid way we can use to prove her living in the UK since December 2014?

Cheers,
ILRILRILR

For the time prior to the new passport, you can use P60s, council tax, official benefit letters etc.

Do you have a copy of the old passport??

Hi CR001,

Thanks for your prompt response.
This is what's mentioned in the document list page:
Bank statements or household bills are not suitable proof you have been living in the UK.

Also, she does not work and no we don't have copies of her old passport...

A bit of a pickle..

Cheers
