Standard VISITOR VISA UK

Post by Maestro92 » Wed Feb 05, 2020 7:33 am

Hello Everyone,

Here is my case :

I am planning on applying for the U.K VISITOR VISA, to visit my friends. ( Applying from Morocco).

I am working as freelancer, I teach languages to Adults and children ( privates courses) + home cooking .
I get paid in cash and deposit at my bank account, Which generates me Regular income but different each month. ( Bank statements could prove it )+ I have some money in my savings accounts sufficient for my 10 days stay.
I have also a property which my house. My friend will offer accomodation.

As much I want to travel and take this new experience, I don't want to waste money and time if my visa could eventually get rejected.
Does it worth applying or not ?
Thank you

Hello

In Morocco are you incorporated with a legal status and tax returns? Or are you working informally and getting paid cash in hand?

I am working informally and get paid cash in hand that I deposit in my bank account. Freelancing in Morocco still free somehow.

I know how it works there, I just wanted to double check with you.

If you were employed in Morocco, it would have been easy to prove that for the purpose of getting a visa. You would show a letter from the employer, payslips and bank account showing the salary.

If you were properly self-employed, it would have been more difficult as you would have had to prove it by submitting more documents such are tax returns, certified accounts... etc.

But as you are working informally, you will be considered without job for the purpose of immigration. You will give the Home Office your account showing money in, but no corresponding payslips, invoices, tax return or anything justifying that input of money.

Even when people work, have salaries, but the account shows other revenue that is not justified by anything, the Home Office doesn't like it and this often triggers refusals.

In your current situation, the chances of you getting a visitor visa to the UK seem very low to me. At this stage, I don't think the risk is worth it. You are better off keeping your shot for later when your professional situation looks better.

Can I state in my application that I am unemployed and show my savings account and state that my sponsor will also be paying for my trip ?

It won't help neither.

It's not really about who pays for your trip. It's about your attachment to Morocco.

If you don't have a job, it means once you enter in the UK as a visitor, you are likely to overstay your visa and work illegally in the UK. This is the way they see it.

These assets are indeed very positive.

Especially the fact that you own a house. But remember: for the Home Office, you don't work. You even have curious sums of money coming into your account without any justification.

If you have a stable job, the odds would be in your favour.

But you know, it's always a gamble. You can try and see if it works.

I didn't know the civil partnership existed in Morocco. But if it's the case, put that also in the application as it shows you have strong ties to Morocco.
