You can apply no sooner than within 28 days before the 5th anniversary of the initial visa ISSUE date.1. My original Tier 2 visa start date is 18 May 2015 and I entered UK on 30th May. I guess that I can apply for ILR starting April 20, 2020. Appreciated if this can be confirmed.
You can do both at any time.2. Can I source my English certificate in advance now? How soon can I write my "Life in UK" test?
No she cannot apply for ILR as she does not qualify. Her clock for ILR reset to zero when she changed to her own Tier 2 General and she will need 5 years residence on her own tier 2 general before she can apply. Why on earth did she change her visa category from dependent to main tier 2 visa holder??3. My wife was my dependant and did not start working till 2018. She was asked by her employer and she received a Tier 2 General visa in November 2018. For documentation of cohabitation- we have joint utility bills and council tax bills and the house here is on our name as well.
Can she apply for ILR at the same time with me? What shall be the fastest route for her?
If not, can our children apply with me?
What exactly is 'Medium of Teaching as English'?? Is it a short course you did, a diploma or.....? You must have an English test at CEFR B1 level from an HO approved test provider OR a Foreign degree with UK NARIC English and Comparable Assessment OR a UK Degree. Nothing else will be accepted. LIUK can be done at any time, it has no expiry date on the test letter.2. Can I source my English certificate in advance now? How soon can I write my "Life in UK" test?
You can do both at any time.
I should have been more clear in my query. I have received "Medium of Teaching as English" certificate.
Can I can get English sufficiency certificate 6 month's in advance? I reckon certificate now is same as certificate later but gives me comfort that I have it in place.
Also, can I take the test 6 month's in advance?
RandomVariable wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2020 4:32 pmHello,
I have nearly completed 5 years in UK on Tier 2 General Visa. I want to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain. For that I have to get NARIC certificate for English proficiency. I have my letter of "English as medium of study" , degree and transcript ready.
On NARIC website,
It is clear that I have to use "Visa and Nationality Service".
On selecting that:
It leads me to screen saying "Please complete your Nationality, the Tier and Route you are applying for." I am currently on Tier 2 General and applying for ILR.
a. What should be my Immigration Tier? Should it be "Tier 2" or "Family Settlement and Nationality"
b. If I have to choose ""Family Settlement and Nationality" as Immigration Tier, would my Immigration Route be "Settlement"?
Yes
Please advise.
Thanks
