Applying for Ancestry visa with grandfather by marriage

Post by verichards » Fri Feb 07, 2020 12:26 pm

Hi guys,

This may be a silly question but I want to try my luck. My biological grandmother had her second marriage to my Poppa (British-born) well before I was born in 1990. I have always known him as my grandfather as he helped to raise me from day dot. Am I eligible to apply for this visa even though he is not my biological grandfather?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Short answer is no.

It muat be a UK born biological grandparent as birth and marriage certificates showing the ancestral blood line you are claiming have to be submitted.
