Accountant fees for documents? High?

Hi,
What is the Average fee for supporting document from accountants for a spouse visa for example?
Im sef employed and the accountant quoted "£250-£1000 ec vat" depending on the time taken to gather

Despite giving a clear checklist taken from gov.uk application

I thought this was quite high and i was not given a time scale for paperwork to be received either.

Can i get a second opinion here? Thanks

This is not really an immigration related issue. Fees for work by an accountant, presumably your own and you are not shipping around for anyone to do it, are between you and the accountant.
