Hello
My son has a Russian partner who recently gave birth to my granddaughter in Moscow who is in the process of obtaining a British Passport.
My son worked in the Embassy in Moscow until his visa expired and since then they have met up in various countries whenever they could and she has visited the UK on several occasions on a visitor visa. They have had a long distance relationship basically for about 5 years.
My son is now in the UK working full time and his partner is in Moscow with my granddaughter. Once the passport is issued she would like to come to the UK with her daughter to visit but I'm not sure of the best way to do this. I'm worried she may get refused.
She had to give her job up after giving birth as she could no longer do it so has no income. She is living with her parents in their house with her daughter. She is probably going to be seen as highly likely to stay in the UK which would mean her visa would be refused. She has no intention of staying, their plans are to eventually marry then once my son has a decent job apply for a settlement visa at the moment he doesn't earn enough. So because of this they do not want to jeopardize any chance of getting this in the future.
Its all just so complicated and so unfair, he can't stay there as can't get a job and it looks like she is not able to come here either.
Anyone else been through this before and any experience?
Thanks
