Your son is not British so cannot apply for a British passport.

You becoming British doesn't make children before this date British.

What is the UK immigration status of the other parent??

Hi,

can't I apply for MN1 for my child and apply for a british citizenship for my child from India, or I need to apply for Indian passport and apply for a settlement visa only ?

No. A child Bron abroad has no entitlement to register as British. You will need to apply for a Indian passport and a UK visa.

Child would only have been entitled to register as British if born in the UK once either parent got ilr.
