British citizenship and passport for child

Please can someone help.

Situation: I have ILR (5year Tier 2 route) and my husband is now a British citizen (5 year Tier 2 route then ILR). We are both based in the UK and have full time jobs. I am due to give birth soon in India.

My questions are:

1. The child will have an Indian birth certificate. Is this acceptable for British passport application?
2. Will the child be able to get British cotizenship directly if born in India?
3. Do I need to register the child for British citizenship before I apply for a passport from India for the child?
4. What is the process for an overseas british passport application (first passport) for a child? And what documents are required?

2. Yes, child will be British by descent. Note if the child has children outside the UK one day, they will not be automatically British.
