uk spouse visa supporting letter

Post by clairdanaci74 » Sat Mar 21, 2020 5:10 pm

Hi, can someone with previous experience please take a look at my supporting letter for my husband's visa application, To whom it may concern,
This is a letter of support in the respect of my husband, *********, in his application for a UK Spouse Visa to settle with me in the UK permanently. I am a UK British Citizen and I reside with my daughter, *********and her two son’s at the address at the top of this letter. Both ****** and I would be staying here on a “Rent Free” basis for as long as we need. ****** has written a letter in support of this. We will be looking for a place to rent of our own in the future.
**** and I met many years ago whilst I was on holiday in Marmaris, Turkey where he was working as a food service personnel by day and breakdancer entertainer by night. Unfortunately after my holiday ended we lost contact. In May 2018 I returned to Marmaris, Turkey, and **** and I met again. We enjoyed days at the beach and evenings out and we rekindled our relationship with each other. This turned into a serious and close relationship and on my return to the UK after my holiday we kept in contact daily via WhatsApp video calls. Finding it hard to be away from each other I returned to Turkey and stayed with **** for two weeks in June 2018, on the 30th June 2018 **** brought a solitaire engagement ring and proposed to me. Without hesitation I said “yes”. I continued to travel backwards and forwards from the UK to Turkey as often as I could. I have met **** parents, his sister and his extended family. We have had many days out together as a family and by ourselves including a family holiday with his parents to Icmeler, Turkey. We both enjoy fishing, walking and keeping fit. When I am in Turkey I stay with him at his family home. On the 17th of September 2019 **** and I married in his home town of *****. **** has had contact with my family in the UK via WhatsApp video calling, he has struck up a close relationship with them all and they are all aware of our intentions to settle together in the UK, they have all given us much support in this long process and eagerly await his arrival.
**** has been offered full-time employment with a fuel drain business in the UK upon his arrival and he will use this money to fully support himself without resources to public funds. He is very much looking forward to this and he has had many telephone conversations with his intended employer. They are, however, aware that this depends on the hopeful success of his visa application.
I thank you for taking the time to read this letter of support and trust that we have been able to provide sufficient evidence that we are in a genuine and subsisting relationship. If there is any further information you require to help with **** application please do not hesitate to contact me on any of the details at the top of this letter.
Yours Faithfully

I will be sending evidence, like photos, WhatsApp messages, and marriage certificate but I have to write a supporting letter as well to explain how we met and our intentions don't I?

Application form itself most often ask that.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

It is not mandatory and it is only optional if you wish to include a cover letter. Most of the required information is asked in the application as well as the supporting documents.

I did include a cover letter for my wife's visa which was a few paragraphs long. It stated I was her sponsor, a very brief history of our relationship, a short explanation on why the UK is our chosen place of residence and how I am able to financially sponsor her. This is the letter I included:
Dear Entry Clearance Officer,

My name is XX and I am writing in support of my wife's application to settle here permanently in the UK and to explain our intentions and plans to build a family life here in the UK.

XX and I first met in XX, USA in July 2017 when I was working there under a summer program and spent just under three months regularly seeing each other before I had to leave the USA. Before I left the USA, XX and I agreed we wanted to remain as partners and we have been in a long-distance relationship since, often taking turns of visiting one another when time permits. XX travelled to the UK for the first time around September 2017 where she stayed with my parents and I in XX.

Before we had met, XX had already accepted a year-long placement in XX, China as an English teacher beginning in December 2017. We agreed we would maintain our relationship and I could visit her after university. When my university year finished in May 2018, I visited XX in China where we were together until October 2018 when we both travelled back to the USA for her sister's wedding. During this visit this is when we agreed to progress our relationship and wanted to settle together permanently.

XX was refused entry to the UK in November 2018 as the immigration officer was not satisfied she was a genuine visitor on that particular occasion. I was able to visit XX after this in the USA after I started my current employment in May 2019. After this date, XX has been able to visit me several times after obtaining entry clearance as a visitor approximately May-July 2019.

We became engaged in July 2019 in the USA and married in March 2020 and married in the same country and are now seeking to start a life together here in the UK. We have spoken at length about which country would be best for the both of us, and any future children we may have, and have agreed that the UK would benefit both of us the most.

Upon arriving in the UK, XX and I will be residing with both my parents who have kindly given us permission to both reside there indefinitely until we are both settled before we plan to look for a home in XX.

I am able to financially support my wife upon her arrival in the UK and I have outlined the calculations in the additional information section of her application of how I am able to do so.

XX and I are most definitely looking forward to building our lives here together in the UK and we appreciate the time you have taken for considering her application. If you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact myself on the following telephone number or via email.

Mob: XX
Email: XX

Yours sincerely,
XX
Some may say the letter is unnecessary and should only be provided to clear any situations you feel may be confusing, however it is not mandatory.

I provided this by typing it on MS Word, printing it off and signing it then scanned it so that the file can be opened in PDF format.

Financial requirements met?
English language requirements met? Does he require TB Cert?
Accommodation requirements met?
Provide the evidence to prove meeting requirements, and besides what you wrote in cover letter already, make clear any aspect you think needs clarifying.
