Switching from Tier 2 dependant to Tier Main Applicant

Hello Team

I am currently on Tier 2 dependant for last 12 months and now have got Tier 2 sponsorship so to proceed with my application i need to get clarified below questions


1. Do i need to travel back to home country to process Tier 2 Visa application ?
2. The 12 months Dependant period will consider to ILR ?

1. Yes, you have to apply from your home country for tier 2 general.

2. No, it won't. You cannot use tier 2 dependent time plus tier 2 general main visa holder time to make up 5 years for ilr. You will need 5 years on tier 2 general. Your ilr clock resets when you change visa categories.
