Yes, for max 20 hours per week and it must be outside of your main job hours. You also cannot do a second job while on annual leave from.your main sponsor as you are still be paid for your normal working hours.

A second job must be at the same level and SOC as your main job and you must be a PAYE employee and not a contractor.

What you can and cannot do
You can:

work for your sponsor in the job described in your certificate of sponsorship
do a second job in certain circumstances
do voluntary work
study as long as it does not interfere with the job you’re sponsored for
travel abroad and return to the UK
bring family members with you

You cannot:

own more than 10% of your sponsor’s shares (unless you earn more than £159,600 a year)
get public funds
apply for a second job until you’ve started working for your sponsor

Sorry to add to OPs question but I believe my query is quite similar too. Can this second job be taken while we are on furlough from the first job?

Thanks

The full guidance on taking a second job is contained in paragraph 226 of the Tier 2 policy guidance. It doesn't say much more than the gov.uk webpage already quoted above.

https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... r-2-worker

It has not been updated specifically for people who are furloughed, so the rules are as normal.
